Lower Stress by Preserving Your Morning

Do you feel stressed during the day? When everything is coming at you - how do you handle that? Would you believe me if I told you that how you START your day could impact how stressed you get throughout the day?
It's true, a morning routine can set the right tone if you let it. Before I started prepping my day I would wake up and take whatever came at me. I realized last week that I had skipped my morning routine several days in a row because I was "too busy." UGH Big Mistake - HUGE!

If I start my day in these ways it makes such a difference in my perspective, my ability to respond (not react) to things that come up and I hope they help you too.
These should be done in a quiet place not at your desk and before you check your phone or computer - super important.
1. Read something inspiring - personal development book, biography/autobiography of someone you admire, blog, the Bible
2. Journal - write or speak how you want the day to go, what you are grateful for (even things you don't have yet)
3. Envision - again picture in your mind how you want the day or week to go. (you may feel like you don't know how or can't vision - it is a skill and it can be learned not many people have the ability out of the gate and it's ok to struggle on this one until you become proficient)
4. Move - put on some fun music and move and groove a little even while you get ready
