Leap of Faith

Have you ever had a time where you just knew there was something that you had to do and you leapt forward without even weighing the pros and cons or assessing what would happen on the other side of the leap? 20 years ago I had a moment like that and I was reminded of it this Easter Sunday. I was raised in Jewish home. We were not Orthodox but we did align with the Jewish faith and celebrated several of the holidays. But, when I was 30 years old things were not as I had expected in life. Actually life was spiraling out of control in the wrong direction of success.
As I drove home from work one day it was like my car was on auto-pilot and I ended up at the only church I knew in my town. I went in and was introduced to the Pastor’s admin assistant. After some discussion she asked me a question “Do you want to give your life to Christ?” Well I had driven there hadn’t I? Did I really want to? I had no idea what I was saying yes to but at that moment I chose to go with my gut and said “yes.” She led me in a prayer and then I left.
I didn’t know what I was supposed to feel or do but I knew I had taken what was a huge leap in my adult life. It was one of the first times I remember making a decision just for me not reasoning or questioning the other side. As I reflected on that decision this week I am still so glad I made that move and didn’t turn away. It hasn’t always been easy that decision I made and it has really changed me.
One of the results of that decision was re-evaluating relationships, stepping out of my comfort zone. Taking that step and doing something that was so different and against the grain in my family of origin was a huge leap of faith for me.

As women, as entrepreneurs, it is often hard to take those leaps of faith – to stand for something even if we are alone on an island, yet sometimes in life it is necessary to get where you need to go. When you leap into the unknown you build those muscles that build toughness, build resilience and set the tone for other things in life. If you are continually questioning, evaluating, waffling on decisions then perhaps there are unconscious blocks that are preventing you from taking that leap of faith. If you are ready to put them behind you or discover more about the work we do to help people be strong and stand tall in their own mission then let’s connect.
